I just purchased a '99 F150 Lariat 4x4 with auto trans and about 189,000 miles on it.
There are quite a few minor nuisances with the truck but the first one that I want to fix is the blower motor. It only works on low or high, not the other two speeds. Same problem whether AC or heat is selected. Do you think it is the switch that is bad or the blower motor itself.
Still looking around for a decent manual that goes into removing and repairing interior and instrument components. I bought the Alldata DIY for this truck but so far I'm not impressed with it. I find better info on this forum than it offers.
lay upside down on the pasenger floor and look up under the glove box. There are two 8 mm screws holding a 1 x 2 inch plastic box to the air duct. There is a 4 wire plug on the plastic box. Unscrew and pull the box down, remove the plug. You will see 3 resistors inside and one will have a burn leg on it. $20. at Auto Zone.
Well I lucked out just my resistor was bad , and I replaced it and all is good . But sometimes the connector goes out as well like on my 97 . Glad you got it done
