VIN search

We are going to look at this 2012 Expedition EL XLT, but I need to know if it has the towing package and how much it can tow. Can someone look up the VIN for me and get this information?

You can do this by finding the website that will generate the vehicle's original window sticker. Search a bit for it, plug in the VIN, and you'll have it.

Hope I am not breaking any rules putting this here - but here it is. Does not look like it has it. Looks like your max would be 6000 from the link below

Thanks guys. That's a big help. I'll have to save that site and pass on this vehicle. Thanks again.

For what it's worth, when I picked up my 2007 eddie bauer a couple of weeks ago, I also re-created the window sticker to check out what kind of options it had, and it did not show anything about the HD tow package. However, according to ford, it does. I called the local dealership with the VIN and they said it did, confirmed by the fact that it has factory 7 pin wiring and the adapter for putting in a brake controller. However, for comparison sake, the other vehicle that we were looking at, a 2007 navigator, stated on the re-created window sticker that it did have the HD tow package. So it seems like the window sticker isn't the definitive answer. I could call a Ford dealership and get them to run the VIN.

This worked great for me!

I wanted to see if the one I was looking at had the HD towing package before I bought it.

I also love that I have the sticker now! (used truck so I didn't get the sticker with it)

Thanks

my 2009 showed the HD tow package as a 395 dollar option on the optional equipment column.
