electronic modules / what i have read

Ok story goes....rear entertainment console stolen out of truck 3 years ago. Harness was cut with wire cutters at video console. Theft light blinks ever since then/ runs fine. Aftermarket dvd console put in about year and half ago and works fine. About a year ago started having door ajar light on and battery drain and my aftermarket bulldog security system would not lock truck ( this was on truck when i got it)
Did the fuse pull amp test and found it to be fuse 19 which appears to be the gem/bcm/door lock module.
Reading up, it appears the 2002 models did not have a gem, but put different modules in the cluster and the door lock module, a.k.a. the bcm.

After pulling fuse 19 the doors do not lock but headlights / wipers / radio all appear to function normally but I have no door locks, on thinking now, I do not recall if the theft light was blinking nor not after pulling the fuse, which leads me to believe it is the vsm/bcm/door lock module.
I hate to go to shop to get a diagnosis and was wondering if just on these symptoms one could 90percent say it is the vsm which by the way, on reading up is the module by gas pedal with the 3 plugs going into it.

Plan is to get a vsm drop the old one down and take it in to let them install and reflash module.
