Anybody ever install a system on their truck? I'm used to newer vehicles and have always had keyless entry. I saw some cheap kits on Amazon and eBay and didn't know if they were any good.
Years ago I put a Bulldog remote start in my Cherokee. The keyless entry worked way better than the OEM keyfob. I'd read the reviews if I was in the market for one.
Keyless entry systems are very easy to install, assuming you have power doorlocks. They will be revese polarity "5 wire" relay activated, and the wires are located in the drivers kickpanel. Most viper or DEI systems come with the relay pack. There are only 3 additional wires to most basic keyless entry systems: 12v battery, ignition, and ground. Parking lights and horn are optional. Check Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers for the wire colors in your specific vehicle.

yeah i grabbed one of those low budget $30-40 bulldog kits from amazon a couple years ago.it's been working great.
(must already have the xlt/power locks already installed for the low priced kits of course.)

whenever the reviews are all over the place like that,it means the unit is built real cheap and it could just fail quickly.
id pass.
edit, though looking at the - reviews it appears just due to people not knowing what their doing.so for the $ (because 15 bucks wouldn't hurt me) id try it.

That's what I got from reading them but buying cheap Chinese electronics is alwaysa gamble.
