clunking front end
Recently did the brakes (rotors, pads, and calipers), packed bearings, and had an alignment done on my daughter's '92 f-150 4x4. It now has a clunking or clanking noise at lower speeds. It is not a heavy clanking, but kind of tinny, if that makes sense. It goes away when the brakes are applied. Can't feel it in the wheel, or anywhere else, but can hear it. I was thinking the front axle u-joints, but they look ok. Any other ideas?

After reading your reply, I realized that the new pads did not come with the clips, and there were not any on the old ones we replaced, but that very well could be the noise I heard. Luckily, I had some extra clips from my Mustang, so my daughter and I threw them on real quick, and voila! no more noise! Thanks!
