I think if you're gonna buy something nice you should treat it nice. What's the point of buying a truck with leather seats when you know they're just going to get ripped up?

Off the topic, but I think I can shine some light on this. My truck is pretty much a loaded larait. Yes, it's nice, and I try to keep it that way, but I'm still going to use it, and if something happens it happens. I use it for firewood, mulch, sand, anthingthing else that can go in the bed, along with pulling the trailer. The inside of the bed got dented at around 2000 miles, wife caught the corner of the bed with a pitchfork around the same time. It has a headache rack thats saved the back window once already. When it comes down to it, I wanted the nice interior, nav, black leather seats because they clean up easy. Will I get in the truck dirty? Yes, but I try to cover the seats and make sure there's nothing sharp in my pockets. I like the creature comforts, but at the end of the day, I bought a truck and I'm going to use it like one, but I try my best to not screw it up. A 5th wheel queen my truck is not....................
Our platinum has 7100 miles and 4000 or so have been towing a 15k gvw 5er - about to move up in weight class to a 16k gvw 5er !!!
SO FAR, a presidential edict has not come down saying we have to buy the right kind of truck for the use intended !
We - we can use it like we want... just has to have all the epa krap to 'save' the planet oh, and the seat belts and chimes and warning stickers all over and ....

If you look at what Ian123 said, it was just his opinion. I don't recall seeing a suggestion that a law be passed on truck use.
It's called a subjective truth. What's true for one isn't necessarily true for another.
I've been looking at Platinum 250 SDs for less than a month, and the vast majority are 2013 models. I believe I've seen a few 2014s.
Are they still shipping 2013s from the factory, or is the supply drying up and the 2014s will be coming out in larger quantities? It seems from checking the inventory on the various lots, that few new ones are coming in these days.
It doesn't appear like there's much of a difference between the two model years, so I'd just assume get a better discount on a 2013, if I can find the right color and options.
Thoughts? Thank you.

I took delivery of my 14 Platinum on 9-4-13,ordered 6-20-13.I've seen a good number of 14's in various trims around here but if you can find a 13 you will get a better deal.I see no difference between the two.Good luck.

Thank you, Spinningwheel. I see that you have a Ruby Red truck. That's a nice color!

That's pretty cool. I wish I'd known that when I was buying mine. I lucked out and found something fairly close on eBay Motors--that was just up the road in Austin.
