It was 90+ degrees yesterday so I get in and immediately crank as usual without any waiting and it would crank fine but wouldn't start. A buzzing sound that sounds like it is in the driver's side of the dash or close to it would not stop buzzing. After several more attempts, key out - key in -try again, the buzz quit after only 2-3 seconds and then it started fine. This has happened 3 or 4 times now in the past week; most times it will buzz for 2 to 3 seconds, go off, and I can start up just fine, but I suspicion that the time is coming when I will be stranded and can't get it to start. Anyone know what the buzzing is and why it won't cut off sometimes? I hate to go to the dealership unless absolutely necessary! Any help is greatly appreciated!
i dont have a great answer for you but if it was mine, i would start by cleaning the battery connections really good. even if they dont look like they need it.
you may even want to test the battery's and alt for piece of mind.
Mine is doing the same thing, but haven't dived in yet. Please keep us posted! I may wait til you figure yours out. I noticed if I flip the key and wait a few seconds it fired right up. I was thinking fuel filter is due for replacing, but it didn't explain my quiet buzzing in the dash...
When mine did that it was low and bad batteries. I found that by using a ohm meter on start up. Changed them out and all is good. Check your alternator out put also. Should be around 14.1 or so.
