steering box

Hello, Iam putting a 75 power steering box in my 65 f-100. I want to change the top and bottom seals, can this be done without taking the box apart? Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, it can. You do not want to disassemble the steering box. Pull the four bolts out of input shaft and you will regret it in very short order.
Anyway, on the input shaft seal, take a sharp center punch and pierce the "seal". I put it in quotes because the seal is actually a dust boot.
Once pierced, screw a short sheet metal screw in. Take a screwdriver and pry the dust boot out. Then there's a snap ring, remove it. Once the snap ring is out, repeat the pierce and pry on the actual seal.
To install the new seal I use a deep well socket.
You can do pretty much the same for the sector shaft seal too.

Yeah, this steering is called "recirculating ball" steering. The four bolts at the base of the input shaft hold in the control valve assy. If you pull this out, a couple of dozen ball bearings will fall out and go all over the place. These ***** have to go back in exactly one position or bad things can happen like the steering locking up while in a turn.
Here's an exploded diagram of your steering box. You'll notice that the control valve/input shaft was only available as an assembly. On the diagram the ball bearings are basic p/n 3647.
Also, I forgot to mention, there should be two sector shaft seals like shown in the diagram, basic p/n 3591.
