77 Rag Joint ?
Guys I am Swapping out the Motor In my Truck and have Old motor out and open
engine Bay,I Need to Replace the Rag Joint in my truck and Pulled out what was left
of it (Totally Shredded Pc's) and Left with the Four Bolts,How do I get The New One In? Do You Have To loosen the Steering Column to Get New One In?
Also have to Replace Seal In The steering Box (Power Steering) as It Leaks Bad
were the Box Attaches to the Rag Joint.Do I Have To pull The whole Box Out to
Replace This Seal?or Can I Replace with It Bolted In?

You can take a hammer and and tap the steering shaft in a little bit to change the rag joint. These areade to telescope in and out but they can get pretty stuck.
To replace the seal the pitman arm has to be removed , then the sector shaft, then the vavle assembly and piston, there are 26 or 27 steel ***** on the worm the piston rides on. And they will have to come out to replace the seal as well as the valve and the bearing.
You might could get lucky and replace the seal from the input side (rag joint end) of the box, but for some reason I don't remember, but i am fairly sure that the box will have to be dissassembled in which case it would be a good idea to remove it and just rebuild it.

So If I am Following You Right I Can Get The Shaft To Move Up a Little Bit?
because I Try'd To Move It Up W/A Big a$$ Screw Driver But It Would Not Move!
might Have To Beet it Up With Large Marge hammer?
