I agree to a point on that. But you get what you pay for! I get between 50-55k out of my tires so I think I get my monies worth out of them. I could get cheaper tires and only get 25-30k out of them and I wouldn't be happy with that!
I don't disagree with you, to an extent. I have been able to get 40 out of pro comps and based on my nittos there is no doubt that I would get the same or close at a fraction of the price.
I really believe that with proper rotation, most of the main companies will get you the mileage, it depends on the owner. I must make sure to say, i dont by any means think BFGs are bad tires.
Not that bad of a price but the big Not Rated For Severe Snow is a no go for me! I need something for deep snow as we have snow drifts that are deep around here and the snow plowes just compact the snow on the road until you get a 1/2 to 1 inch of ice and snow mix.
Funny moved here ND from IL thought they would know how to clear snow out better but they don't they do a *****ty job.
If you want good in snow/ice, avoid Dura Trac's! I hated them within 2 miles. Had them installed in feb, in a snow storm, and my bald Silent armour's performed better on the way to the garage.

Yep you are 100% right on the rotation! I'm also bias on the BFG's tires because I really think they are a nice looking tire! I also have friends that have the tires you are talking about and they love them and get good service out of them because they rotate them.

The only reason I say that is because the BFGs on my 09 were obviously not rotated when I got my 09 F150.
The BFGs are a great looking tire. When it comes time to retire mine, it'll be a tough decision.
those are retreads...save money in some areas, but not there IMO
Yes they are, and retreads have come a long way, read up on them, you might be suprised.
And I balanced the 4 I got for my 77, 285/75/16 ALL were less than 4oz. highest was 3.25, 2.5, 2.5 and a 1.75. I have have MANY guys ask about them, and I will say I am very impressed with them. Just sayin,,,

I had some for my old F150 they ran like a champ I drove around 12,000 with a mesquite tree thorn in my tire before it started to leak. I know it was that long because when I moved from Texas to IL they don't have mesquite trees.
For the time I had them in the snow they worked great even when pulling a RV that was the Max for the F150 in the snow and packed ice. Worked great out in the Texas desert also were my house was around 1 mile off on a dirt and rock road really it was a road cut in the desert just by being driven on.
Would buy again but they don't have 18" and sell out of them every time I they have them in.
Well right now mostly looking at a snow tire..... I have been looking at the Cooper M+S just suck it up and buy now tires and rims for the summer!
Also the debate on can you put 5 or 6ply on a 1 ton truck I can answer that right now I have a 5ply tire on my F350 bought it with them some trail something or other I bought the truck 2 years 7 months ago put around 11,000 miles on them tires I was told were almost new when I bought the truck less then 1,000 miles on them as they were put on by the Ford dealer. To date I have driven around 12,000 miles my tires are almost bald tread on one side is nothing three year old tires are cracked and look like they are 10+ years old.
So yes you can run 5ply on a 1 ton truck if you don't mind getting only 12K out of the tire
The term "ply" has almost no meaning these days. I would be leery of any tire vendor trying to push anything on you while discussing "plies" at all. The actual numeric load index is the only thing you should be looking at.
And no, you should not run a "5 ply" tire (i.e. Load Range C) on a 1 ton truck. It's not a question of how quickly you wear down the treads on a tire but on the ability of the tire to safely handle weight of an 9,000 lbs truck you have riding on it, plus whatever else you're hauling or towing. Sidewall construction and materials have a whole lot to do with it, as does the tread compound, heat build-up, max PSI, and so forth. I don't even run Load Range C tires on my small boat trailer, though I could get away with it.
Skibber...yeh! And you had all that weight hanging off your front bumper. I'm a big fan of anything Goodyear...good job. Firekite, attack mode, more good stuff. Too much of the supposed imagination not realization backed up by real numbers stuff by it worked for me so it has to be the best stuff. Applause!
