On my 2011 f350 6.7 I've found an app for about everything on the menu except a voltage readout.
I came out this morning and the truck wouldn't start. so I charged the batteries ( 9 months old) and drove it with no problems today.
I sure miss the volt meters on the cluster like the older models.
Thinking about getting an add-on for under the dash.
Any ideas?
With todays electronics heavy vehicles, I carry a simple OBDII reader, a 12v test light, and a simple digital multimeter in all my trucks. They're just as important as a traditional tool kit, if not more so.
If you look around you can pick up all three for around $100 total. Get a little zipper bag, put 'em inside, and then throw the bag under the seat, in the center console, in the glovebox, whatever. Then you'll have it when you need it.
Between that and a smart phone with internet access you can diagnose a lot of todays automotive issues, or at least get an idea of whether it's something serious or if it's just something stupid (like a loose gas cap or bad fuse).
