I got a perplexing problem. I was installing mud flaps on my 2012 f-350 and completed the passenger side when I went to install the drivers side the tire was a full inch back (closer to the cab) than the passenger side. This made it impossible for a mud flap to go there without rubbing. I have bushwacker fender flares so thought maybe something was wrong there but I measured center of axle to a point on the frame and the drivers side was a full inch closer.
Is his normal??? I have never hit anything or been in a accident. So not sure what to do.
I'm sure someone else will come along and either agree with me or disagree with me, but I think it's normal.
I don't recall what it was I was doing to one of my past Superduty trucks, it may have been installing front fender flares when I noticed that the tires were much closer on one side than the other when full turned one direction..
Sorry I can't be of any more help, I do recall it was a white truck, but then we both know the color wouldn't make a difference...right?
Rock chips are a sign of "Truck Character". Maybe a different style of mud flap will work. One of those plain old get the job down hang down rubber flaps. The don't look as nice as a molded mud flap, but do get the job done.
Over on the Jeep forums they would say to just Plastic Dip over the chips and go with a two tone finish. But then Jeep Owners can be a weird bunch of folks.
