I went out side today and seen oil on the ground under my truck. I got underneath and noticed a corner screw of the oil pan missing. (front passenger side). But above it I noticed metal plate craked on both sides of corner. I dont know if this is what they call the upper oil pan or a bed plate or something else?[/COLOR] I rigged it using some jb weld putty to stop leak for now. AM I SCREWED? It looks like you would have to have the engine taken out to have it fixed.
Anyone know what that may be? Am I going to have to sell one of my kids to be able to pay for this repair? LOL! Anyone have any answers or suggestions?
I think you should be able to do the upper oil pan in frame. It's a bit of a job to get the lower oil pan and pick up tube off but after that there's 9 small bolts that hold the upper oil pan (I always called it a windage tray) to the bedplate. I just scrapped the one from my old motor this morning. Bummer.
thaks guys, i'm not concerned about the screw, I just put another one in. The problem was thr cracks in the upper oil pan i guess made it lose its seal and leaks. I had to rig it until I get a real repair. I just put jb weld putty on it that stopped the leak, but need a real fix. Thanks again
