Just bought a 2000 F250 power stroke over last weekend. Thought I would go ahead and join. Truck is bare bone stock, 76k miles on her can you believe it!! Saw an add for her and traded my little ranger for it straight across. My head and legs are loving it already( I'm 6'7"). Are there anything to be on the look out for my particular year. I've heard the trannies aren't very good, and some people talk about ball joints going bad. Anything else? There is a slight shudder when I start from a dead stop and same with coming to a complete stop, I'm thinking slip joint needs greased and or u joints. Leaning more towards slip joint myself. Anyhow hope to have some pics of her on here soon. Loving my new truck!!!
yeah man - congrats. I'm only 6'4" and completely get how happy you gotta be to be in the SD cab! lol.
I will say that in my area $100 gets you a complete inspection with a parts list - could save you some guesswork - just an idea I've done myself. I had a Ford dealer go thru my SD soup to nuts - gave me a full printout of parts needed for problems detected. I got really lucky and had a short list...but I still consider it money well spent.
Welcome. You are on the right track with the slip joint. Do yourself a favor and buy the Motorcraft grease with the teflon in it, XG-8 i believe. its like $3. Its lasted a lot longer than the other times i just used synthetic driveline grease
