i have a 1992 ford F150 it has a 5.0 in it all stock it XLT has 205,000 on motor i put new water pump in new thermostat fan clutch is working good did flush on fluids but after driving 10 miles it will go to the L in normal then it cool down back to the N in normal then it will go back and forth from N to L till i shut truck off can any one help me here check temp sencer on block look ok dont know what else to look at
Your thermostat may be sticking. When it opens the temp goes down and when it closes the temp goes up (not much water flow to cool). I have gotten bad thermostats new before. You could try replacing with another stock or get a cooler thermostat that opens at a lower temperature. If you live in a typically cold climate and this is your daily driver i wouldn't get a cooler temp thermo. It'll take alot longer to get heat in the winter lol.
I'd try another thermostat first. Cheap repairs that fix stuff are my favorite. If that doesn't work I'm not sure what else it could be other than maybe an air pocket. But if the temp is fluxuating up and down and you've rechecked your coolant level that shouldn't be the case.
