Water Temp

92 F-150, 351, 4x4, auto, supercharged

I have a 195 degree thermostat in the motor that has the stock radiator. I have always thought it strange that the temp of the water is around 220-225. Is this normal considering I have a 195 degree thermostat?

Yes. The temp of the thermostat is when it should open. It can't open more at 220 than at 195.

How did you measure the coolant temp?

(there are 3 digits on each guage, just not through the digital camera)

top is water temp, middle is tach and bottom is transmission fluid temp.

NICE! How tuff was that to install and did it need to be calibrated?

I thought it was easy, just needed to find the right fittings and such.

Didn't need to be calibrated. Each of the temp. guages came with a temp. sensor already calibrated. The water temp. sensor replaced the stock one and the trans temp. sensor went on the transmission cooler inlet in front of the radiator.
