So I have a 2007 F-150 FX4 super cab with the 6 1/2ft bed. Recently I had to have my upper ball joints replaced which suprised me since the truck only has 43000 miles on it. As I'm looking at it the other day I noticed that it doesn't have a ton of rake to it. I measured and I have a 1 1/4 inch difference from back to front. I was just curious if maybe the previous owner leveled it a bit. So my question is, is 1 1/4 inch rake what the come with stock. Does anyone have a f-150 that they know isn't leveled tell me the difference between their back and front wheel wells.
They all vary a bit from truck to truck and model to model.
My 2006 FX4 SCrew 5.5' bed had rake of about 1.75" at the max just prior the level that I put on this summer. I used ReadyLift's 1.5" spacer and I'm very happy with the outcome. . The FX4s typically have a bit less rake to them than say a XLT or Lariat...still not sure why honestly. Take a picture of the top of the strut mount for us and post it up here. If you can see the upper curve of the mount, as if it's not sitting in the upper cup, then you likely have a spacer.
As for the ball joints...my lowers were replaced at 58K...so I'm not shocked that your uppers needed it. It is a 6klbs truck ya know.
I don't have that measurement for you.
What I do have is the thread I created on the subject. This contains before and after shots. I have 20" OEM wheels on my truck. The measurements you'll see were taken from the LOWER wheel lip through the hub center to the bottom of the wheel well arch. I put the butt of the tape on the inside of the lower side of the 20" wheel. Your measurements will vary if you have different wheels.
