Anyone know anything about wheel spacers? I've heard of them but don't know if they are a good idea in a 4x4 application. I bought some 33 inch BFG All-Terrains that I love so far but they hide in behind my wheel wells. Especially with a Trail Master 3 inch body lift. Probably should have bought 35's but guess it's kind of late now. I'm running these tires on stock rims for now and don't really feel like dropping the cash on new rims with different back spacing just yet. Do they wear out ball joints faster because of the extra pressure put on them? Any input would be great. This site rocks.
I haven't heard many good things about wheel spacers, I have aslo heard that sticking the wheels out further does put extra stress on your bearings. It could also put extra stress on your wheel studs. I would wait until you could get some wheels.
Too funny. I just got done repling to the post that was above this one about wheels. Alot of what I said is the same as what syco said about ball joint and bearing wear when it comes to spacers. The same pricipals apply.
Sycostang67 is right on about the spacers, and especially the lugs. In my opinion, that is the biggest problem with spacers.
