My 285's and my 305 both threw off the speedo. 305's off by 3 mph at 70 285's off by 1-2 mph at 70. I don't even look at the speedo anymore. Have edge cts with speedo pid, garmin gps that shows speed and my trucks indash gps shows speed. All 3 match except trucks speedo which is off.

That's interesting. One this recent roadtrip I really noticed that my speedo is off by 2-3 mph and I have stock tires. I ended up driving by the tach after verifying with my gps. Well. More reason to get to get rid of these crappy Uniroyals.

285's made mine accurate. 305's are usually about the exact same height so they should be close or the same. I think the only real difference is tread and cross section width.

With 285's I did trim the front mus flaps (if you ever installed them) after the body was lifted for head gaskets. They rubbed slightly on tight turns before, but seemed to a tad more after. I'd always meant to trim them anyway. I know with 305's I'll have to trim more.

Sorry, I've been away from my PC for a bit... I'll try to get you a pic today if I can.

I can't access my personal email or photobucket at work

I have Cooper AT/3s and they ride really well. Road noise is low and they're aggressive which is nice at the beach, they'd fill with mud fast though.

You can see me turning the wheels to the right here with no issues and no lift. See my signature...I have no issues with rubbing.

I use my phone and my Livewire TS to watch my speed as well. I could use the Livewire to reprogram for the tire size, but I've just been too lazy...

My speedo is right on with 285s and no rubbing even during some unintentional hard core wheeling!

They lifted the body to install head gaskets? What went wrong with them and any idea why?

It always ran great, even with the headgaskets quite sickly. All 8 holes breached, perfectly evenly on both sides.

It's quite healthy now.
