Sorry if this was already posted, but I didn't see it.

Anyways, farm auction had a 1997 F350 SRW reg cab LB 351 E4OD 4x4 sell, had 59 miles on it. Apparently the guy bought it and NEVER drove it!

Tons of pics.

Brought $22,000 !!!!

Thanks for sharing, I loved it!

The YouTube video on that page is a must see! Like stepping back in time... they did a great job on the video.

I love that truck! I'd rather have it than a new one, and half the cost even at $22k.

Beaut of a truck, but I have to agree, sitting around all these years, it is going to new to be completely resealed, the gas tanks are going to have to be pulled and de-rusted from condensation, the tires are probably dry rotted, at 22K, it might not turn out to be the buy some might think.

Maybe...but did you see that frame still painted black and with the stickers still on it? A weekend worth of fix up and that's a heck of a truck. Or for a guy looking for a truck building project, it's an incredible starting point.

Or...
Actually new F-150s start at $24,000
5-10 year old PSD Super Duty for around that price
Heck of a nice lightly used and very capable F-150

While certainly a good find, the price does seem pretty high. If I had guessed before it sold, I would have said $12-16k.

There was a 77 f150 in my town that only had 5500 miles on it.
It was bought new by the parents to give to their disabled son, and from what my father said, was garage kept and only come out to take the son for short drives around town.

A business acquaintance of ours found out about the truck and ended up purchasing the truck. It was a 77 reg cab longbed, ranger/explorer packages, baby blue with cream stripe, full time 4x4, 400cid c6, ac, intermittent wipers, and probably everything else available in 1977. The truck was beautiful. The guy who bought it built a 557 stroker with aluminum heads and all kinds of goodies, refinished the truck real nice and all he did to he paint was buff it. Now the truck only gets taken to shows and to the truck pulls.

I see a 96/97 f250 I think on ebay a few years back with a 460 that only had 10k on it sell for about 15000. Another museum piece for sure.

I always think that's neat to see something so untouched like that.

I believe it was the firestation in Wautoma, WI, last year, sold a 1970s F250 highboy if I remember right. Only had a few thousand miles on it or so, and was nearly untouched aside from it saying the name of the city on the door and a light bar on top of it. I think it went for $10k or something like that.

Every time I see something like this I wonder what the Story is with it..I wonder why someone bought it,and then just parked it away..But it is a Cool Piece, and if I had the extra $$ I'd buy it & just keep it parked..But of course I'm talking if I was rich..

no doubt that's what the purchaser will be doing with it as well until it either gets passed along the family or resold 20-30 years from now.

Manual T-case with auto hubs?

Regardless, that's pretty much my truck. I'm gonna save these pics for reference.

I shared this with some buds and we were talking about it at lunch today. Everyone wants to know why someone would buy a truck and then not drive it!

I really like the truck, that's my trim level. Vinyl floor and roll up windows. I think the wheels look good on it too. The video was amazing, looks like it was filmed on a dealer lot in 1997.

Thanks to FarmingF250 for sharing!

I have a 1972 F600 that I bought with 1200 miles also. My grandfather bought it new for my hometowns fire department and 6 years ago I bought it back.

The 77 I had mentioned earlier was a fathers gift to his disabled son. My father grew up with the guy and the story was when the son was having a bad day, the father would take him for a ride in "his" truck. After the son died (in his 30s) the truck was parked in the garage and it sit all those years. I remember the truck getting washed once on a while.

Sad story goes along with some of these low mile vehicles. Like the people killed at war and never had a chance to drive their cars. Some are just cars that never were driven.

I love stories like this, especially if they can be proven to be true. In the unproven category...

A friend of mine heard from a friend if his (see what I mean about unproven?) that the guy was trolling through farm country, looking for old cars left sitting behind barns. He stops at one farm and after talking to the 30-something farmer for a while about the wreck that was visible from the road the farmer offers to show him one that isn't for sale. They hop in the farmer's truck and drive to a shed out on the property. Inside the shed is an early Model T with something like 20 miles on it. Story goes that the farmer's grandpa bought the car new, drove it home and swore he was never going to leave ol' Bessie again. Parked the car and used real horse power until he died. His son inherited the farm and found the car, but by that time the car was to old to be considered a good car, so he left it for the fun of it. His son now owned the farm and car and the car wasn't going anywhere!

I alway thought that was such a good story it had to be true.

If you look at some of the other items at that auction, the guy had a lot of stuff he bought new, mainly farm equipment, and never used, or hardly used it. Tax write offs. There was a large 4x4 tractor with 6 hours on it....

I thought the price was high too, but no way you'd find another one like that in that shape! I am wondering if the truck was a leftover on the lot when the 99 Super Duties came out and the guy bought it cheap....

what a truck! that's like a flashback. . .if only I could go back to the magical period of time pre-adolescence when these trucks were as abundant as pennies, studying them tickling, and riding in them moreso.

thanks for sharing.

if I were rich, and I am hoping to be, I would buy 2 identical vehicles. drive one, park the other. . .that way I can have best of both worlds. keeping it fresh without pulling my hair out, and driving it the way that typically isn't friendly to longevity.
