So I am probably not the only one who has done this. Just figured I would ask here, before I start stumbling all over the interweb. When I bought the F5, all I really wanted was the engine, and I wasn't worried about it not having a title. Now that it's an obsession, my plans have changed.
Question is; how difficult is it going to be to get a title? All I have from the PO is a written bill of sale, he never titled or registered it. I am in Nevada, and the truck was last registered in California (license plate has a 1977 sticker). I am relatively close to South Tahoe, so going to a CA DMV would not be to big a problem.
People will try and give you all sorts of advice on how to do it leagally or otherwise - You will also get a bunch of "In Pennsyltuckey we do it like this"
The only true way is as EffieTruckey said above = Your state's DMV
Take it from someone in LE in CA, don't bring it back to this state for nothing. CA DMV will make you pull your hair out. I have helped several people here with CA DMV issues, even went to Santa Cruz and helped BadgerHound with his paperwork after he could not get anyone local to help him. I have done VIN forms for Nevada in the past because they allow LE from other states sign them so if you cant get anyone local to help you you can always PM me, I may be able to help and if not I have friends who live and work for Nevada LE. Good luck.
