Wasn't aware that the Mutts were built by Ford, there's been one running around here for many years, guy drives it daily

We used them back in 1966 when I was in the Beachmasters (USN). I drove one that was outfitted as an radio jeep, used to coordinate amphibious landings with the Marines. I drove it partipating in landings with water coming up to the windshield. They were really tough and reliable.
