Aux Tanks

I have been debating what to do with the 30 gallon tank someone installed in the bed of my truck. I see a lot of people using the mustang tanks at the rear under the bed to replace the in-cab tanks. Why don't people use the ford auxiliary tanks instead?
Are these tanks usable on a SWB Flareside? I am just trying to get some info so I can make a decision on which way to go with this.

I considered an aux tank as a replacement for the in-cab tank in the '70 SWB 2WD F100 like yours. Even had a '69 tank to try to fit in. Decided against it because of the interference with the left side dual exhaust pipe. Did the Mustang tank behind the axle instead. I'm happy with it.

yup exhaust clearance, also the mustang tank moves some weight behind the rear axle giving a little more traction.

I thought most people avoided them because of exhaust clearance.
With the i6 I have single exhaust with no plans to make it dual.

I want to use an aux tank on my truck but did wonder about the exhaust.
Is it possible to route dual 2.5" exhaust around the tank or is there just not room?
