Price is up to $250 for 1000 gallon tank. But that has been the price for the last 10 years so I guess I can't complain about inflation. $80 bucks a year isn't too bad and it's a lot cheaper than a new leach field if you wait too long and plug it up with solids!
I swear, everyone in Vermont has a septic tank.... all the rural people i know in the midwest have leaching fields that were put in like 50 years ago....

THat probably could be it... we have very loamy soil and drains really well. YOu guys have rocky/clay'ey soil and water just sits on top of it
