steering box adjustment

On my 93 F150 2 WD I turned the adjustment screw about 1/4 turn to the right to remove some free play from the steering wheel. It helped, but I would like to get a little more out. How far is it possible to go with this adjustment. What happens if you go too far. All the tie rods and drag link seem to be OK.

Keep giving it a 1/4 turn until it feels ok, and isn't too tight. If you go too far you can always back off on the adjustment.
