It can, providing there's a jam nut(with a flat head screw in the center of it) on the top of the box. Loosen the jam nut, gently adjust the screw inward(clockwise turning) until you feel it bottom. I STRESS the word GENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Use two fingers to turn the screw, once it bottoms, back it out about a 1/4 turn, and test. If you feel any binding at all, it's to tight, back it out some more, if it's still feeling loose, adjust in 1/8 of a turn from your 1/4 turn out. Before going ahead and adjusting the box, however, make sure your tie rod ends and other steering parts are in good condition and proper working order. Loose steering is something that can be attributed to several parts, rather than just one. If you had a 1/8 inch of play in every ball joint, and tie rod end, you'd end with roughly a 1/4 turn of the steering wheel before it went the way you wanted it to, without the box ever being to blame. Just a thought.
