I'll be swapping a 351W engine into an '81 2WD F150 that currently has a 300/5.9L six. I expect the engine perches from any '80-'86 F150 2WD with 302/351 would do the job but so far I haven't had any luck finding those. Perches from any other donors fit? Bronco, if I could find 2WD? F100? 4WD F150?
I'm finding lots of info on engine perches for bumps and dents but nothing on bullnoses. The search function on this site doesn't work for me for some reason. It lists all today's posts regardless of what is being searched for.
You can get the 302/351W engine perches from any 1980-1996 F-Series truck that has a 302/351W.
Your real problem is going to be with the couple of rivets that Ford used to hold the V8 perches on.
The perches for the 4.9 300 I6 seem to all be bolt on.
That's great news. I expected differences between 2WD and 4WD and am really surprised the newer trucks work too. I can get the perches out of the '95 F150 that donated the 351W/5.8L engine going into the '81 F150.
I can knock those rivets out. Just did a BUNCH to move the cross members for the behind-axle fuel tank in my '70 F100.
