towing completely stock

Just how much does the rear suspension sag on a completely stock truck when towing a decent size trailer? (say 750lbs on the tongue)

Here is a picture of my EX towing my boat with stock rear suspension. It is really close to that number.

ok, thats not terrible.

my trailer is 48' long...but with 3 axles and the boat way in the back...keeps the tongue weight down significantly.

were you comfortable towing like that? or did it suck?

I dont have the lift/bags installed yet, and I might need to drag the boat across town this weekend for labor day...as it looks like my dodge is sold.

It towed it great!. I will say that I did have a rear sway bar added to it though. I do not know how much difference it makes in towing though. I had never towed my boat before I had it installed. I tow this boat two hours one way every weekend during the summer.

Toss some airbags or get RAS on the truck. Small investment to make and it's worth it.

04. Completely stock. Factory towing package, so factory rear sway bar. This is the trailer:

Not sure of tongue weight. Would expect it to be around 1,000 lbs, probably a bit more. total trailer weight is in the 10k range.

It doesn't even look squatted that bad in the picture, but you have to remember how little suspension travel the excursion has stock. Here is the rear suspension, taken at the same time as the above picture:

Airbags are in the works, but I have V codes with leveling springs to put in the front and I've been waiting to see what I'm gonna do with the rear so it levels out, as my understanding of airbag kits is that the kit you need depends on your height. I'm actually gonna make a post about that right now. lol

have the shop doing the bags and 4" procomp lift next week...will post pics.

still wont help me on sunday...if its real bad ill adjust the trailer to reduce the tongue weight.

in the pic above, you easily have more than half the weight of the load in front of the tires on the trailer. id guess way more than 1k on tongue if the whole setup is 10k!

I had 1300 lbs of concrete mix in the back of the X on stock springs, and it only squatted 4 inches measured at the hitch. It wasn't squatting as much as Hasteranger's photo above.

Heaviest load I've pulled so far. Tongue weight was probably in 1000 lb range
