Here's a picture of mine - stock springs. Boat is 30ft and is a twin engine and is well setup on the trailer - fully loaded it is about 11k with ~850 on the tongue. Tows great but the stock springs are definitely done and this winter will be the full suspension change. Still doing research on what I want to do with either v/b or an aftermarket route.

I tow lots of stuff on my car trailer which tows great! The TT and boat in my sig causes a bit of sway when windy or being passed by semis, I blame it on the box. All stock.

I get a LOT more sway, I've noticed, with the tires at door card (55 psi) versus sidewall (70 psi, iirc). When not towing, 55 psi gives a smoother ride (and longer wear on the tread) but any time I'm towing a heavy load long distances, maxing out the tire pressure tightens up the rear a good bit.

Regarding my earlier post, the trailer weighs in the 3300 lb range, though I haven't reweighed it since I added the crane, thats my estimate. The truck probably is in the 6k range. Unfortunately, though it is a 20' deck, the axles are set pretty far back so I don't have much ability to shift the weight. I am consider adding some extra tie down points on the back of the trailer so I can run the truck a little further back, but I don't want the *** end to hang off the trailer either. The next time I load it, I'm strongly considering loading it backwards to get the engine/pipe bumper weight centered over the axles. I think the trailer is built with enough tongue weight that it should be fine. Unfortunately I haven't towed the truck loaded much outside of around my house and I haven't found any truck scales anywhere near to get axle weights off of. Even with the truck backwards, its a lot of tongue weight, and I am gonna need some supplemental spring action back there.

id definitely put it on backwards...cab and engine over the trailer tires...vs between them and the tongue.

lowered the ball so only perhaps 500lbs on the tongue...looks perfect.

one thing that did concern me, as just the drive from the yard thru my hood to the house...and the trans temp was nearly 190, as was the engine coolant...with the engine oil temps nearly 200.

hoping thats just a lack of airflow at 25mph or so in a neighborhood...have to keep a close eye on it at highway speeds.

Lots of tranny heat generated in lower gears before the torque converter locks up. Keep an eye on it for sure.

Right, a lot more happening in the box at lower speeds and no airflow to cool it down.

When I tow in 90 degree weather with the AC off on I68 (which has 7 mile grades near 10%) I typically have trans temps in the 165/175 degree range, engine oil temps around 220 to as high as 230 and engine coolant temps peaking above 220 degrees.

I've never seen trans temps as high as 190. When climbing hills I start slowing down when water temps start climbing above 210 degrees. Water cools the oil as well. You will start to hear the supplemental fan kick when water temps get above 210. It does a good job bringing temps back down but it makes a hell of a racket.

towed great yesterday..stayed at 65 for most of the trip (about 45 miles each way to the ramp)...nearly all highway.

EOT stayed right at 218...with just a few trips in the 220 range going up some hills.

coolant temps stayed right at 205-208...with trips to 210 on those same hills.

my torque app shows two separate readings for transmission....one just saying trans (which stayed dead even with coolant temps)...the other titled "transfl" stayed at 175...but creeped up to 186ish on the hills.

all in all I got no complaints for a 200+k mile truck towin that much weight!

I will say that it sways way more than id like (passing or getting passed by semis...or crosswinds going over bridges)....lift and bags go on wed...hoping that will help!

Sounds like your oil cooler may be on its way out. I'd keep an eye on it. Anything more than a 15 degree difference is a sure sign of a bad cooler, and a lot people say it should be within 10 most of the time. Now on a hill or something, when youre putting heat into the motor, eot's will spike and go 15-17-18 degrees or so above ect, thats normal. But it should come back down pretty quick afterwards. If I'm towing on flat ground My ECT and EOT are usually between 200 and 210, depending on whether the AC is on or off, my speed, etc.

id read the +15degree thing before...it only ever got about 10deg hotter while towing...coming to a stop...or driving unloaded...the eot and ect always remained exactly the same...this led me to believe that the oil cooler was working just fine and the added strain of towing just made the oil that much more hot.

definitely something to always watch for sure...I love the torque feature that allows you to set a warning temp so the gauge will blink.

I tow a 32' floating beer cooler w/ twin evinrude 250s. managed to snap a shot before I hauled it back to the farm for storage.

I just picked up a set of 2008 F250 rear springs, gonna swap them on. Longer spring, smoother ride, plus more capacity. Eventually.
