2003 F-250 with a stock trailer that weighs in between 18-24k on a normal day, has had up to 30k total in it. I do NOT recommend it because it's really not safe, but farm-use wins out sometimes and it's only a few miles at a time normally. Personally, with a 20k trailer you need to be seriously looking into 550 level trucks, not just for the higher legal weight ratings, but for the larger brakes (model year dependent), heavier stock springs, and on chassis backs you can get a beefed up frame. And the 9.5' bed option that lengthens the truck does help the truck carry the load better, less back to front bobbing. There's a big difference with that trailer between the 03 F250 CC/LB and a dodge 5500 chassis back, and that's accounting for how much I hate dodge....

For comparison, my truck is on the left, stock suspension with 34" tires.

Don't do it. 20,000# for the excavator plus at least 6-8k for a trailer strong enough to carry the load, it's too much for an F250. You need to be looking into medium duty trucks to haul that kind of stuff safely.

That F250 hauls bucking bulls and horses. 12 bulls weigh 20,000# pretty easily, they average out around 1600-1800# and top out north of 2200. Bulls kept in large groups can get wierd and fight out their own pecking order, they can't all be bunched together randomly without one of them trying to screw or gore something (that's a bad fight inside a trailer), so normally 3-5 bulls that get along go on the back end of a dozen or so horses to keep the weight on the trailer's axles and off the truck.
