So I'm doing an F650 dash mod in the 2001 EX and I am having a nightmare of a time getting paint to spray the panel the same color as my interior. I know there has been much talk on this subject in the past but I cant seem to find the answers in old posts.
I used Stealth Automotive and ordered from this color chart. Colorbond - Color Chart
Raul at Stealth told me based on my color code on the door that I need color 120, medium dark parchment. So he ordered it and shipped it. When I got it the can was labeled as Md Dk Parchment but the lid was a lighter color. I sprayed the panel and it came out looking like color 337, Ford light parchment. (Picture attached). I emailed the company several times with no luck getting any help. No one local to me has been able to help either. I'm at a loss.
The panel on the left is what I need to match. The panel on the right is what I sprayed with the supposed Md. Dk. Parchment. Looking at the color chart and this pic, what do you think?
Like he said there are guys that do this for a living and can match any trim color. Small part off the truck wont cost much. Here in Dallas English Color is who we use.
I work in a body shop and we have done this on occasion for customers. That's the only reason I know about it. Vinyl Die I believe is a brand name I am sure there are others out there.
