Cool metal found during oil change

, its a little late to do a sample, but will pull one with a few thous. miles on this go around.

Not completely sure, but 95% sure, that this piece (sorry, no pics), came from this oil change, just an hour ago. The pan i use, gets a clean enough job for the nect go around, that i store it in a trashliner. Anyhow, the piece, along with gold dust, looks like a "section" about 1/8-3/16 long/bend, from a key-ring. Its the best description i can give, down to the "bend" it has.

Anyone want to take a stab at what/where it may have originated from?

Sounds like a piston cooler oil nozzle.

I am not certain, but I don't think the cooling jet tubes will fit through the Fomoto valve.

"Gold Dust"??? Have you checked the turbo for excessive play?

The last time I remember seeing a thread on here where there was gold dust in the oil it turned out to be a HPOP that was coming apart.

I know how you feel, not too good to find something in your oil. Does it look anything like I found? I'm not sure what it is but others think it could be a part from the turbo bearing. Pic has 1/4" squares. I hope what you found came from the oil drain pan not the engine. Good luck.

Could it be a piece of the fumoto or the little nozzle that screws on it?

Ya Crew..its pretty damn sickening to say the least. Looks nothing like what, unfortunetly, you found. Dan, ya, it looks to be a snap ring for the turbo shaft, but them are flat/rounded. This was just like a key ring, just 1/8-3/16in size, curved. Yup, not feeling this, think the Cordin Vodka needs a friend. Greg, I wouldn't be surprised. I feel, ever since my turbo popped 2yrs ago, it just doesn't have the giddy-up, it used to. Already ordered some bellows, got a few more I think I can start throwing at it...

You to get a pic up of the piece. And you said it came through the Fumoto valve? The hole in that ain't very big.

Uh... that picture with the squares looks like an intake or exhaust valve busted. Blowby? Combustion noise out an open IC boot?

The truck suposedly had a blown turbo before I bought it. No running issues. I do use 2 quarts of oil in a 6k oil change. 233k on truck 17mpg average. I found 3 pieces, of what so far seems to be originally one piece. The first piece was found by me mabe 50k ago. The second was mabe 25k ago. The one in the pic was mabe 10k ago. The pieces can't be too important can they???????? Spair parts mabe!! LOL!

I'm still waiting to see the OP's pics of what he found. Any pics yet?
