On an 05 if you don't have the EGR valve plugged in you will have fan operation issues.

I've pulled my EGR valve several times for cleaning/inspection...just remove two 8mm bolts, twist to the left and using a metal coat hanger threaded thru both ear openings twisted..use a crow bar leveraged against the Alt just pull up and pop it out.

I got the EGR cleaned last night, it was surprisingly clean! The o-rings weren't dry, and in excellent condition. The inside of the manifold was pretty dirty but I didn't know how to clean it. I was told to leave the EGR out and start it and flooring it to blow the soot out, I wasn't going to take any chances. It was running great on the way to school this morning, and I had it at all different speeds. I will update if it starts loosing power again.

Check CAC cooler inlet for cracks, Boot connections on cac, Turbo O-ring seal if you see oil around that area, and for a breather clean IAT2 senser, it will be gummed up. MAP.

Carbon , build up in a complex engine X s the sensers , need to look at scan GaugesII with ford X gauges to Monitor some Values, I'm still thinking Algie in the HFCM. Get these cleaned with carb cleaner=
1. HFCM ( on rail)
2. IAT2 senser
3. MAP ( and connection to Intake) ( nipple clogs)
4. Get a fuel pressure test. ( and put the Blue spring Install ).

Well the truck still has the power loss but it's very seldom. I'm getting the EGR deleted ASAP. I really do believe that is the issue. When I cleaned it the soot inside was sticky. And I do have an Edge monitor on the truck that tells me EGT temps and how many lbs of boost I have I'm not sure if that would count as gauges or not. One thing I did notice the truck has ran an extra hundred degrees with the EGTs now would the EGR be a player in that? Or do I need to check for something else?

I don't know why no one has mentioned CLEANING THE TURBO. If its bad youll have to take the turbo out and take a dremel buffer to it and clean all the carbon. But the same thing that Drives the turbo is the same thing that Clogs it up. EXHAUST. So you really need a boost gauge. They started putting them in the 06 and 07s cuz theyre so important. Your turbo should max out at about 26-28psi. An egr delete will drop that max to about 24psi. Mine did. But once you get your turbo cleaned you really have to EXCERSIZE it. Work it up to 10 12psi then work it up to 18. Then once my EOT and tranny is up to temp, only then do I boost WOT 24psi. But a dirty turbo will tend to stick when your at a set rpm for ever. You need to make sure that turbo opens up.

Wow. Wix fuel filters? Glad I only use Motorcraft! If they fell apart inside fuel system, doesn't that mean you need to replace all injectors and pull and clean HFCM?
