Power loss!
I was driving up to the mountains last week when all of a sudden there was a very large "boom" and a black cloud of smoke out the rear. I lost all turbo power, but the engine was running. After looking under the hood I found that the top (forgive me for using incorrect language here) exhause turbo tube or at least that is what I think it is, was blown off. After replacing the tube and clamping down the clasp the truck ran fine. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I have heard that there is a recall for a different clasp and tube! Thank you for the help

I've had that happened a few times. Scared me the first time, like you said it is loud & happens under a load. Someone told me to use something like brake cleaner on the inside of the boot. Let it dry in the sun, then put it back together. You can also buy heavier duty aftermarket boost tube boots that will be more secure & more durable.
