Sub box installs,suggestions

Hey guys been looking and looking and of course best box would be to make to speaker and vehicle but just wondering what sum of you did or have and placement. Not enough room it seems for good box behind seats(crew cab) without the use of shallow mount subs. And if everyones using shallow mount subs which and how do you like.My original thought was to make a box and have it sitting right behind center counsel and if I needed the extra room just unhook 2 wires and bam,you got room and would only take a second and would have the best sounding bass and you could use better subs?Any thoughts, ideas or comments

When I have more time I'm going to build a box behind the rear seats for a single, shallow mount 13" JL. I bought my truck for utility and passengers and am not willing to compromise. I considered mounting a sub in the center console, but it's going to rattle like none other, and I lose that storage.

I have a JL stealthbox sitting in a closet. The sub is great as I had it in my 2010. I want it in my 2011, but am reluctant to lose the under seat storage.

I built enclosures for behind the rear seats and have two kicker comp 10" boomers.

It is possible but I found that you have to cut away the carpet and insulation on the rear wall of the cab to do it. Doing so gains an inch which is enough to use normal speakers and have a big enough box for them to sound good.

Passenger side is a standard wedge shape, driver side is an L shaped wedge to both avoid the power rear window motor and also gain internal air volume for a decent sounding box.

Both mine are sealed, amp is installed under the driver side rear seat. I also used two line level converters to feed the amp, left and right, rear channel only. This works well for listening to talk radio...

I installed one of these -

Car Audio - Subwoofer Systems - MircoSub

matched to one of these -

Car Audio - Amplifiers - JX »

They both fit behind the seat of my crew cab. It's tight, and you give up a bit of space on one side, but it's clean and simple.

I'm not an audiophile by any means, but believe the reviews on this sub, it's amazing.

I wanted same type but seems that still not enough mounting depth unless u use shallow subs.Im no expert but do sum audio stuff and most boxes(good ones) are built for the sub. Meaning if u build for speaker it's so much better sounding then just throwing a sub in a box. But at the same time gotta probably make sum sacrifices to fit behind seat. I will do sum more checking but most of the speakers I looked at were to deep yet

I know that 2 - 10" Hertz ES250 subs fit in a bassworx F250C210B box with no issues.
I also know they would sound better if they were in a properly sized box but it is what is is. They still sound good.

Yes I have the power rear window, here is a pic. You have to take the seat out to get the box in.

What's the total volume for that? Doesn't seem like enough for two woofers! Where'd you mount your amp? I was thinking of building a box like you have, but adding notches to mount the amps on the woofer box.

0.8 cu.ft.

Amps are under the rear pass seat 2 x HDP4. 1,000W to drive the 2 subs and 1,000W to drive the components

LCQ-1 under the front center jump seat
