Did you have to cut or modify the carpeted panel on the rear cab wall to get that box to fit?
I did not install it but yes they did cut out all the carpeted panel behind the box. I believe they had to, at first they though it was the wrong box so I assume it is a tight fit.
I have a 2013 platinum with lockable storage boxes under the rear seats and it looks like my only option is behind the seats. Factory sub isnt bad, but its not the **** off your neighbors thump I was looking for. Are those shallow subs even worth wasting time and money? how much sound can you get out of that small spot? Pull the factory sub and put 2 or 3 shallow ones back there? or would that even make much difference from just 1? I used to have a 12 inch dual voice coil in my ranger and that baby thumped but nothing that size is fitting in this truck it doesnt look like, not much room at all! Would love to add sound but I guess I need some expert opinions on the options available. behind rear seat appears to be only area I have open.

I am no expert but yes it makes a difference.
It's had to post bass on a forum but click on this video.... a song with lots of bass makes the rear view mirror not usable.

Huge sound improvement with the 13 1/2" shallow sub I went with.
With my kicker 10" speakers I was able to make a wedge 7 3/4" deep at bottom and 1 1/2" deep at top and mount the speaker in the box, 1.8cu ft sealed enclosure, and it hits plenty hard. I did not buy shallow subs and they work great, been over 2 years back there.
The driver side is still 7 3/4 deep at bottom but looks just like Darren's, an L shape around the motor, a bit taller and skinnier at the top of the L. That enclosure is about 1.5cu ft.
It is possible. All the carpet and pass thru air vents have to go, seats need to be removed from vehicle to get them in.

WOW you got great volume outta there Joel, nice work.
Stopped by an audio shop today. He said 2 10s is what he would go with, didn't have any shallows hooked up to hear but he said they were plenty loud. Did you guys do anything with changing and amping the door speakers? And how did you do amps? He did they Mount on back wall and screws go through to outside, really turning me of of this project. He did he could 3m a board to the wall and Mount to that or maybe under the seat. Not impressed at all when he said they Mount them sticking out the back of the cab, eek!
