I never did figure out how much lift I could expect over my current setup putting in a stock d44 setup. I know with a stock ttb setup I could expect it to sit about identical to now and I would expect the sas to leave it higher than that, possibly high enough to fit 35s.
Hey Jarryd, I might have a d44 available shortly. It's in a 79 F150, all worked perfect when I parked it a couple of years back. PM me if you have any interest.
You will have to go at least 6" to clear a D44SA. Any lower and the diff will hit the TTB crossmember. Also DO NOT cut the crossmember to clear anything. Doing so will weaken it and cause it to crack later on. Jeffs Bronco Graveyard sells a track bar for an SAS that bolts to the TTB crossmember so you won't have to cut it to clear.
You end up taller with the SAS than stock TTB. I couldn't tell you how much taller though for certain.
I knew it would be taller, it's just hard to say because most people end up doing an additional lift on top of that and have to do shackle flips and taller leaves and blocks out back. I'm just wondering ahead of time so I'll know what is going to take to bring the back up to match, probably an add a leaf and a 2" block would be more than adequate.

I thought I could bolt in a stock sas setup and be fine. Didn't know I needed additional lift.
There is no need to replace the TTB setup and you need the truck ready for the winter, get a TTB, which works just great, and if you decide to plan for next year, just a suggestion, did you check my other thread?.
No, a D44SA will not bolt up under a TTB truck. Allot of modification is required.
Yea now that I'm researching more, it looks like I'd be into it way more than I had intended. I thought it was a bolt in and go type deal. I think I'll end up going ttb after reading all I just did because the sas will have me sitting way too high for what I need and make it hard to deal with as a dd. I think a ttb setup with 2" lift coils will put me about 2-3" higher than now and still pull me through where I need it to while costing about 1/10 as much.
Do the 2x4 and 4x4 radius arms and tie rods interchange? I know there's a 90 f150 at the junk yard with a complete ttb setup as well as the tranny and everything else. I need to know what all too grab when I go to pick it apart.

I haven't checked it yet,I'm on mobile and sigs don't show up on here.
Nice link. Definitely looks like stuff I can handle. I'm hoping I can grab this stuff and get it all together pretty quickly. It should be pretty easy add long as I have everything there and ready to go.
