I searched the forum and didn't find the answer to this question.
How can you turn a speedometer back? Do I need to take it to a speedometer shop? I have a great shop in Denver that I have used before.
I don't know if I want to or not. The truck has 40K on it (140K of course). I am rebuilding everything so it might be good. Colorado doesn't track mileage on classic cars so I think it's legal here.
I took mine out, turned it all to zeros and put it back in so I would know how many miles that I had put on the new engine, tranny rebuild, power steering & power disc brake upgrade.
You could be rolling it forwards not backwards, who knows or cares on a 50 year old vehicle. Anything that old deserves respect and should be taken "as is" by any one considering purchasing it.
That was exactly what I was looking for! The instructions were great. I reset the odometer to 999999, put it back together and rolled it over by hand to make sure it was working correctly.
