NEED HELP DIFF INSTALL
had to do a pinion bearing on my truck, trying to get the diff back in but it wont go the shims are binding up and when i do get it to slide in the left bearing cap wont seat what the heck am i doin wrong

i finally got it installed , i had to use a diff from an axle i had out of an 83 after tightening the pinion down the carrier bearing caps seated just fine, although i also had to use the 83's axle shafts which means i have to change the rear drums to 83 drums because the center opening on the 89 drums is larger, yeah thats it, everything else between the 83 and 89 drums is identical so one i have those changed out i think im all set

the reason being is because the spider gears on the 89's original diff were badly chewed i found chunks of em at the bottom of the case they look like the made it through the ring gear and pinion seeing as how the truck no longer has RABS the fact that the 83 diff didnt have a tone ring for the VSS doesnt really matter
