Do an advanced search on my user name and "door adjust". I posted an extensive how to within the last couple weeks. You adjust the door fit with the latch removed then adjust the latch so you get full engagement without it pulling the door up or pushing it down. The Mid Fifty catalog also has a description of adjusting the latch.

Switch over to altman or bear claw latches and you will never understand why you messed with the old style. Much safer and easier. Just my .02

well took the latch out and the door shouts great ,, the weather stripping is holding it out a little but not bad ,, i think my problem is my catch, the 2 prongs that stick down are worn they are kind flat , and if i hold a light inside i can see the start wheel and where it would hit the catch teeth and looks like they dont hit them very much ,, i would think that the start wheel would be at least half way up on catch teeth ?? looks like the star wheel is abut half way in on catch teeth not on edge , i tried to lower the catch and it dont come down enough ,, i'll keep searching

thanks
