Have a 94 f150. 351w with 4r70w. I have a vibration in the truck from the 1500-2000 rpm range. It only occurs when driving. Tires have been recently balanced so I don't believe that's the problem. The front end has been all redone ballpoints tie rods center links and alignment so I also believe that is good. Balancer was replaced a few months ago as well. I don't notice and play in the u joints. And a couple months ago the diff was replaced. This problem started about 2 weeks ago. If I put it in neutral while it vibrates driving it goes away.. Only does it when driving
Do as MeanGreen suggested. How many miles on your vehicle? Your u-joints can still be bad even if they have no play in them. Did you check for play with the driveshaft disconnected? I had a vibration on my truck and the u-joints were tight, so tight that I had a heck of a time removing them from the yoke. When they finally broke loose it fell out in pieces of rusted metal. I replaced all u-joints along with center support bearing. Vibration dissapeared.
