Adding integrated brake controller to 2008 F250

Adding integrated brake controller to 2008 F250

Besides the OEM brake controller itself and reprogramming the computer module what is necessary to add the factory brake controller to a 2008 F250. I noticed that the 2008 brake controller looks the same as the prior years and very different than the proceeding years.

I'm guessing by "proceeding" you mean "succeeding"

In 2008 you also have to change the master cylinder to one that accepts a second pressure transducer. In later years, I believe, the pressure transducer duties were combined and this is no longer necessary.

Look for a connector near the master cylinder with wire on only one side.

Couldn't find the connector you described on the truck I was looking to buy so I passed on it. Thanks for the heads up.

hmm. I don't think it's ever not been there before.

If that's your only reason for passing, you might want to check again. I try to snap a picture tomorrow.

The wiring was not the only reason for passing on the truck but it was the one that tipped the scale. I can't take a picture of it now because of the distance involved but as I recall the harness had one lead going up to the front mounted transducer and another lead that doubled back onto itself to with a connector in between. The large bundle of wires lacked a smaller bundle attached to it that went to the back mounted transducer, which I found to be the case on another 2008 F250 having an IBC.

Just the same, here is the picture I promised for future reference.

The red circle is the blank connector that the harness is connected to if the rear transducer is not present.

The green circle is the new transducer with harness connected.

Looks like I'll have to go back for another try at buying it. BTW, the picture doesn't show or load.

I can see the picture now. So, the green circled connector attaches to the red circled connector when the IBC is not present? Thanks for posting the picture.

Number of wires in transducer connector

Wiring diagram shows 3 but unused connector identified by ford service tech has only 2. How many wires on yours ? Mine is 2008 F 250 diesel. Unable to see pix you posted earlier.

The second transducer (the one missing on the non EBC master cylinder) is a 2 wire. Its hidden right below the MC. Do you have the new master? If you want/need a BN in a bag one hit me up. I need it and my used non EBC cylinders out of my way. Make a nice deal
