can someone help me
my fuel pump will run for about 2 seconds and shut off on my 1990 f350 460 and I don't know if it should run until it has a lot of pressure but if you take the fuel line off filter it wont run but 2 seconds and quit anyone know if it works right or not

have you checked the fuel pressure at the fuel rail? and does the truck run? ive seen everything from a faulty inertia switch to a half burned up relay to a bad connection on the pump cause these issues. i dont recall but if its a frame mounted pump you can ohm the pump to see if its on its way out after it quits pumping do to heating up, relatively easily

it has I little pressure to rail but im not sure how much it should have yes it runs and the pump is in the tank and it always ran good but I quit driving it for a couple weeks and then it wouldn't run
