Need some help with brake issue
I JUST swapped a left-front caliper yesterday after diagnosing a RH pull. I didn't have the pedal issue you are having - just a pull and the LF rotor was hotter than the right (due to dragging). That's when I took those pics!
Here is how I compress calipers. Yes, I am a redneck - but I find this MUCH easier than the 'proper tool':

This caliper was FINE when I replaced the brake pads and rotors a few 100mi ago. I guess it didn't like being compressed for that job?? Lifetime warranty = swapped out no questions asked. It takes me longer to paint the new caliper than to change it out!!
Went to walmart and picked up oil then swung by advanced for fuel/oil filters and started talking to the guy there (I know I know) but one thing I noticed while "interrogating" the issue on the trip tonight, at a stop light while the pedal was pulsing it kept dropping and with minimal effort I was able to get it 95% of the way to the floor........which screams to me that I mucked up the 13 year old master cylinder in it. Well the guy at advanced seemed to agree with me...go figure, and I dropped the $70 on a new master cylinder. Also today at lunch I "visually" inspected the rear brake pads and calipers/pins best I could and their doesn't seem to be any odd or un-even wear down there, so tomorrow im gonna figure out how to bench bleed this stupid new master cylinder and throw it in. Ill let you know how it goes.
But I wont give up, thanks to you guys! Changed the oil, installed the new MC (bench bled the crap out of that thing) and everything is ok EXCEPT!!!!!!!! it still pulls to the right....
AH HAH! But theres also A NEW discovery! Its definitely in the pass rear caliper, how do I know this you may ask? Because of my extensive messing with this stupid issue, we now know (and can see) a "drag" line on the inside of the rotor, like the pad is shot, or something....ran out of time tonight, but im gonna tear that side apart tomorrow after work and re-thoroughly inspect all of those components...hopefully this will shed some light...and think I have "just enough" cash on hand to go by a new set of pads just in case I mucked something up...stay tuned gents I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
p.s. on a lighter note I now have the best brake pedal ive ever felt in a diesel, and it doesn't drop anymore!
