New from Ohio

Just wanted to say thank you for a great forum.

Maybe someone can lead me in the right direction here. I recently bought a dream of mine. An early 80s bronco. 81 Cusom with the I6. 4 speed manual transmission. As it turns out a guy that lives close had a bronco hidden in his garage that he wanted to sell so I ended up buying an 83 XLT 350 Auto. I think I have these specs right. I am new to the mechanical side of cars but hope to pick up some trick on here and know plenty of people who are good with cars.

My first thought is this... I bought both in pretty rough body shape but have access to a guy who can weld. I knew in buying the second one that one would be more of a parts truck and the other would be the "product". The wiring is pretty much shot in the 81 and I like the body and interior of the 83 so I think I am going to stick with that as my finished product. I do however like the manual transmission in the 81 and was wondering if it is possible to swap the transmission out of it (manual) into the 83 (right now its an automatic). Like I said before I will have help from some people who know what they are doing and can teach me.

Just an FYI both of them run and drive well.

Thanks for any help and/or any links to threads that might help out.
