Diesels in trucks heats up

Will Ford jump on this bandwagon in its popular F-150?

Latest word I saw from Ford, was no. Extra sticker shock, etc.
Be interesting to see how this all eventually shakes out. Personally, I
wouldn't pay the extra price for the engine/drivetrain, cost of fuel.

Who would have thought this years ago?

I for one however like the option of a diesel though. How much more would this drivetrain cost? We'll find out when the Titan comes out.

I'll have a tough time believing that the average auto buyer will actually reach a break even point in a five year financing term.

I don't consider the MPG estimates used on the Chevy Cruze in the article to be all that encouraging. A Cruze gasser and a Focus can get 40 mpg's without an expensive option.

If they can get 40 now, they'll get up to 50 eventually.
