Stock sub?
In reference to my 2011 F250 XLT. Stock system is awful. Would like to upgrade door speakers to some 5x7s and I'm torn between installing a stock sub. or a JL 8".
Been to my buddy's stereo shop a few times and we decided we'll have to cut the carpet/wall behind the back seat (no I don't have a powersliding beer window) to make the JL 8" fit. I'd like to avoid cutting into that if possible.
My questions:
Recommendations of conservatively priced 5x7s
JL 8" vs stocker? Also open to other brands of subs and encloses, looking to stay away form removed under seat storage and no cutting
If stocker, are there replacement units that fit in the stock enclosure?
Appropriate amp?

The stock sub isn't very good, neither is the amp for that matter. Anything aftermarket would be better (my components in my signature).
