Steering Parts

I want to do some front end work on my '65 F100 and before I go to all of the work, I'd like to make sure my plans are ok.

I plan on having the king pins replaced on my '65 F100. While I'm doing it, (read - having it done) I thought I'd go ahead and replace the bushing on the radius arms and probably even the ones on the center link and tie rod. Besides needing to be done, hopefully this will tighten up my steering.

Good idea so far?

Here's the question on my plan.

Can I take the I-beams, center link, tie rods, and the radius arms off my '66 F250 donor truck, get them all cleaned up and replace the bushings on them, and then use those parts on my '65?

Thanks!

Jeff

The steering parts are the same (tie rods, link).
My guess (and it's just that) is the I-beams are different, since the F250 is a heavier duty truck and has different hubs/brakes...but I could be wrong. Ditto the radius arms. Since you've got both there, why not eyeball them and check some measurements? My catalog shows 65 and 66 have different style kinpins...but they are the same for 100 and 250 trucks for the respective years, so maybe the only difference is the actual knuckle?
Now, are you sure you need the king pins replaced?
Also, now is the time to do a disc brake swap if you've ever considered it (pre-80 parts bolt right in, mostly).
