Full frame vans?

Do all Ford vans have a full frame, if not which years do have. And what years have front steer? Thanks

i think they all did. i know for sure my 87 does, and they used that exact body from 75-91. newer ones also have a full frame. the only ones i'm unsure about are the 74-earlier

i know my 87 has front steer, again, that would be true of the whole 75-91 era. i'm really not sure about the other generations.

I have to ask what you mean.

What do you understand under a full frame?
A typical ladder frame or a self-supporting body?

Do you mean with "front steer"?
Maybe "front wheel drive"?
I've never heard of any car that is steered like a Forklift.

The only Ford Van with front wheel drive I know, is the european Transit from 2000 on.
And there it's optional - some have RWD or AWD

I believe by "full frame" he means a frame like a truck with the body mounted above that. That's what we have.

By "front steer", I believe he means that the tie rods act on the front of the wheels and not the rear. Ours do sit forward of the kingpins, acting on the front of the wheels, and thus are designated "front steer"

Cobra, I responded much like you did the first timei saw someone a ask this question, so don't feel bad about not understanding the question

Cobra, Josh is correct on my meaning. A lot of vehicles here are rear steer, meaning the steering is done from the rear side of the front wheels. As far as a full frame, it means one continuous frame from front to back. Thanks for the replies.

Econolines: 1961/74's are unit bodies, 1975/2014's are body on frame.
