Another problem

While in Tow/Haul with my 5th wheel when slowing down probably at 5 or 10 mph the last downshift is very hard and the brake pedal gets real soft until full stop. Afterwards the brake pedal is firm. Tow/Haul without the trailer is fine. Any help is appreciated. Thanks I forgot to add it's an '06 F250 Supercrew 4x4.

It's a 6.0.

Then I would first suspect a hydroboost issue.

What's the chances that the trailer brakes aren't working, your on the brakes hard, then the tranny downshifts hard (amplified by the hard braking), and then the tires slide just a little, which is then detected by the abs. That would soften the pedal, correct?

The trailer brakes are working. I tested them using the slide on the controller. I have the controller set at 8.5. The trailer is an Open Range RF337RLS.
